My Friend comes from Manchester

A few years ago the "Poor Poets" (Nat and Paul) were asked to do a performance poem for a new UK TV program called "The Word". This was before it started and they told us it was going to be the new "Tube" - honest. Anyway we were asked to write a poem about Manchester - which was "THE" place in the UK at that time.  Everyone wanted to come from Manchester (Mad-Chester), the "Stone Roses" were the "Big" band at the time, the "Hacienda" was the club to be seen at and it was owned by a local TV celebrity "Tony Wilson" -  A film called "24 hour party people" was made recently about that period in history. So here is a clip from the TV programme which gives you a bit of an idea of what our stage act was like - "My Friend Comes from Manchester" is the video of the poem with Nat saying the words and Paul doing the silly things. Below is a link to a "Youtube" hosting of the video which although of poor quality is only a small file for better quality video files see below.

For better graphics and sound click HERE for an MPEG version of the video - this is about 15MB and is good quality so may take a while to download and click HERE for SWF version of the video - this is about 5MB and is of medium quality so will take less time to download
