The Last Laugh

I’m

thinking

about writing

something humorous

It's for you I'm doing this

You so obviously encourage it

You want me to make you smile

grin widely, chuckle,

giggle, laugh

belly laugh, loud and raucous,

guffaw uproariously

until you are unable to stand or even sit and

you  roll onto your knees

then fall to the floor

veins in your neck bulging

face puffed, purple

eyes protruding

mouth stretched to the limit showing

all your teeth

tongue lollygagging

now to it’s full extent

right to the end of your chin

spittle splashing

your hands clutching desperately at your sides

heart  pounding urgently

while you thresh helplessly about

near to absolute oblivion

It might be worth recalling

this is all for you

it is what you wanted

begged for

it is even what you have been willing to pay for

well are you so sure now?

I hope this makes you happy

then you are

sure you are

ready

to

have

your

very

last

laugh
